मुख्यमंत्री धामी ने कहा कि वीबी जी राम जी अधिनियम विकसित भारत की मजबूत नींव है। कहा कि नए अधिनियम में ग्रामीण विकास के साथ आपदा प्रबंधन में काम भी होंगे। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि विकसित भारत-गारंटी फॉर रोजगार एंड आजीविका मिशन ग्रामीण (वीबी-जी राम जी अधिनियम) 2047 तक भारत को विकसित राष्ट्र बनाने की मजबूत नींव है। जब गांव का विकास होगा तो देश भी तरक्की करेगा। अधिनियम में आपदा प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में होने वाले काम भी शामिल किए गए।
नए अधिनियम में सामान्य राज्यों के लिए 60:40 के अनुपात में केंद्र सरकार से वित्तीय सहायता मिलेगी। वहीं हिमालयी राज्यों को छूट दी गई है। इसके लिए 90:10 का अनुपात किया गया है। उत्तराखंड सहित हिमालयी राज्याें के लिए केंद्र सरकार 90 प्रतिशत जबकि प्रदेश सरकार 10 प्रतिशत वित्तीय सहयोग देगी।मंगलवार को सचिवालय स्थित मीडिया सेंटर में प्रेसवार्ता में मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि नए अधिनियम का मकसद मनरेगा का नाम बदलना नहीं है। इसका उद्देश्य ग्रामीण रोजगार की संरचना को मजबूत करना है। वीबी जी राम जी अधिनियम किसानों को सुरक्षा, श्रमिकों को रोजगार, महिलाओं को सम्मान, गांवों का विकास और विकसित गांव के माध्यम से विकसित भारत के लिए मजबूत नींव बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण साबित होगा। पहले मनरेगा में 100 दिन का रोजगार का प्रावधान था।
