उत्तराखंड राज्य स्थापना के रजत जयंती वर्ष समारोह के अवसर पर प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने आज लगभग ₹8260.72 करोड़ की विभिन्न विकास योजनाओं का लोकार्पण और शिलान्यास किया। इस दौरान प्रधानमंत्री ने प्रदेश को विकास की नई ऊँचाइयों पर ले जाने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई और उत्तराखंड के समग्र उत्थान का संकल्प व्यक्त किया।
प्रधानमंत्री ने लगभग ₹7329.06 करोड़ लागत की 19 नई परियोजनाओं का शिलान्यास किया। इनमें प्रमुख रूप से

सौंग बांध पेयजल परियोजना (₹2491.96 करोड़) और

जमरानी बांध पेयजल परियोजना (₹2584.10 करोड़)
शामिल हैं।
देहरादून और टिहरी जिलों में बनने वाली सौंग बांध परियोजना से देहरादून में 150 एमएलडी पेयजल की आपूर्ति होगी। 130 मीटर ऊँचे इस बांध से शहर की जलापूर्ति व्यवस्था में उल्लेखनीय सुधार होगा। वहीं नैनीताल जिले की जमरानी बांध परियोजना एक बहुउद्देशीय योजना है, जिससे 57,065 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में सिंचाई और 14 मेगावाट बिजली उत्पादन का लक्ष्य है।
इसके अलावा प्रधानमंत्री ने कई अन्य विकास कार्यों का शिलान्यास किया, जिनमें शामिल हैं—

₹340.29 करोड़ की पीपलकोटी 400 के.वी. स्वीचिंग उपसंस्थान योजना,

प्रधानमंत्री ने ₹931.65 करोड़ की 12 पूर्ण परियोजनाओं का लोकार्पण भी किया। इनमें

तथा ₹18.61 करोड़ की हल्द्वानी स्टेडियम हॉकी ग्राउंड (एस्ट्रोटर्फ) जैसी परियोजनाएँ शामिल हैं।
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि उत्तराखंड आने वाले वर्षों में “आत्मनिर्भर भारत के आर्किटेक्चर का अहम स्तंभ” बनेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इन परियोजनाओं से राज्य के जल, ऊर्जा, सिंचाई, पर्यटन और शिक्षा क्षेत्रों में व्यापक विकास का मार्ग प्रशस्त होगा।
